Hello Readers,

Today’s newsletter is slightly different. I have translated an article by Fang Ning, a research fellow at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences about his views on India. The article follows after quick updates.

China–India: Boundary talks resume

China’s foreign minister and State Councilor Wang Yi began a three‑day visit to India on 18 Aug, his first trip to New Delhi in more than three years. According to the Asia News Network, Wang will co‑chair the 24th round of Special Representatives’ talks on the boundary question with India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, a continuation of the December round in Beijing that produced a six‑point consensus on confidence‑building and troop reductions. The visit also coincides with the 75th anniversary of China‑India diplomatic relations and aims to broaden cooperation in trade and culture.
